Generel: While the rain gods held off all week, the medal races for the 470 World Championship took place today, run by the Royal Danish Yacht Club off Rungsted harbour, in conditions varying so wildly that Beijing Gold medallist Malcolm Page described them as “like four seasons rolled into one”. |

| Final lunge for the medal races |
|
Generel: With the final culling to determine the top 10 boats in both the Men and Women’s Gold fleet going through to tomorrow’s concluding medal races, today was the most traumatic to date at the 470 Worlds, organised by the Royal Danish Yacht Club and held off Rungsted to the north of Copenhagen, Denmark. In both fleets some impressive snakes and ladders took place despite the late stage of this regatta. |

| Croatia and Japan top the Men´s 470 Worlds |
|
Generel: Solid wind and blazing sunshine remain the welcome constant factors of this 470 World Championship, run out of Rungsted, Denmark, by the Royal Danish Yacht Club. But today the weather threw up yet more fresh challenge. While the current flowing north out of the Baltic Sea was not a problem, nor yesterday’s awkward offshore breeze, the wind having returned to the south-southeast and gusting up to around 15 knots. But today the wind was oscillating and it was a case of picking the shifts wisely. |

| 470 Worlds take on a new dimension |
|
Generel: Off Rungsted, Denmark racing at the 470 Worlds, held by the Royal Danish Yacht Club, today took on a very different perspective. It was the first day the Class were split into gold, silver and bronze division but crucially the wind had veered by around 90 degrees, into the west. Gone was the stable southerly of the first three days of the regatta, replaced by a highly unstable shifty, patchy offshore breeze to challenge the 304 sailors from 29 countries competing. |

| Dutch Double |
|
Generel: Day three of the 470 World Championships off the Royal Danish Yacht Club’s club house in Rungsted, Denmark and it is the Dutch who are stealing the show. Having sailed three races yesterday, today has been a comparatively short one with just one to sail, the final of the qualifying series. |

| Westerhof and Berkhout break free |
|
Generel: Competitors at the 470 World Championships were blessed with another day of unbeatable weather off Rungsted, north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Blazing sunshine plus a stable southeasterly breeze that started at 8 knots and ended up closer to 20, allowed the race organisers at the Royal Danish Yacht Club to cash in on the conditions, holding three races for the five fleets, rather the scheduled two. |

Generel: Conditions could not have been better for the opening day of racing at the 470 World Championships off Rungsted, to the north of Copenhagen, Denmark. While in the morning it was looking doubtful, by 1300, after a delay, the wind had picked up to eight knots allowing the Royal Danish Yacht Club's race management team to get proceedings underway. The wind continued to build into the mid-teens as the afternoon progressed, blowing from the south to southeast, which local knowledge deems to be the most stable. |
